Outsourcing Strategy: Outsourcing Content Creation
Outsourcing Article Creation
We have a new outsourcing article up and many more on the way in coming days. As an experiment, we decided to use outsourcing to create some of our content this month. The process that we used is this:
1. Identified areas of the website that needed deeper content.
2. Did keyword research on wordtracker.com to determine the most important keywords for each topic.
3. Posted a brief description of the project on Scriptlance (You may also consider using Elance.)
4. Picked a bid from the writer who seemed to have the most skill. Sent him our list of requirements and the keyword list.
5. Edited the articles we recieved according to our needs and standards and posted the first one online: China Outsourcing.
The total cost for the creation of eleven 500-word articles was $55.00. The articles were useful to us, as they were written by a provider in India. He had some unique insights to share about outsourcing.
In our next step, we will outsource some article creation to other offshore sources such as China and the Ukraine. We will also explore "nearshore" outsourcing to Canada and also find some U.S. providers.
What are the benefits of outsourcing content creation?
The Outsourcing Review is largely the creation of one person - Ryan Nagy. Ryan in a sole-practitioner and workshop leader who teaches internationally and maintains nearly a dozen websites. As you can imagine, he has a busy schedule.
Outsoucing content creation gives Ryan a steady stream of articles and blog posts that he can edit, modify and quickly put online. In short, it is a time saver, that allows him to keep developing his websites and businesses.
What would it do for you and your business?
