Business communication in the tech industry in Ukraine strongly resembles business communication in Western tech companies. One of the major differences is that, at first, the Ukrainians who work in tech can be reserved. So it takes a little time for them to open up but when it comes to day-to-day work, the Ukrainian tech specialists discuss progress and challenges openly.

In small Ukrainian tech companies, people use informal and semi-formal communication style. Middle-sized businesses in tech are prone to use a semi-formal style of communication in day-to-day life. The formal business communication style is characteristic of large tech companies where hierarchy plays a significant role.

Deadlines

The average Ukrainian programmer has a goal-oriented mindset: developers are responsible for the timely delivery of a project. Working in a team, each developer feels personal responsibility for reaching the deadlines and goals.

In fact, the majority of the developers in Ukraine work in project outsourcing companies. This means that they’re self-driven, self-organized, and know-how to prioritize tasks.

The Mentality of People Working in the Tech Industry

The commonly-shared opinion concerning the Ukrainian developers is that they’re persistent and implement the ideas well. The statement perpetuates a hardened myth that Ukrainian tech experts are better at implementing somebody’s ideas than making up their own. In reality, the Ukrainians are great problem-solvers.
